A light frame is an aluminium frame with built-in LEDs over which a seamless fabric graphic is stretched. The surface glows from within, so the graphic reads like an even screen rather than a printed poster, and it catches the eye from across the hall.

Silicone-edge graphics (SEG) technology stretches the fabric with no visible edges. Octalumina is a line of such frames in 40, 80 and 120 millimetre depths, single- or double-sided, plus the special kubus and plus variants for spatial and 3D effects.

Up to here, good light frames are comparable to one another. The difference that matters when you build a whole stand only shows once you connect the frame to everything else.

The main advantage of Octanorm light frames is that they are part of the same system as the rest of the stand. The frame connects through the octanorm system groove to octawall walls, maxima profiles, the octarig ceiling structure and the octafloor raised floor, with no intermediate adapters.

Specialised frame systems are excellent, but they are first of all their own frame ecosystem. With octanorm the light frame is just one building block of one stand architecture, so one logic assembles wall, ceiling, floor and light, not three incompatible systems.

A light frame glows evenly across the whole face, with no dark corners or bright patches, because the LEDs light the stretched fabric from within. You swap the graphic in minutes: take the fabric off, stretch the new one on, while the frame and LED lighting stay.

Profile depth sets the size and visibility of the lit surface. Octalumina 40 is for wall lettering and smaller surfaces, 80 is the universal choice, and 120 is for large, free-standing or double-sided light walls. Kubus allows cube and round shapes for the ceiling, and plus builds depth with extra fabric layers.

Because the system is modular, an Octanorm light frame need not be a cost for one show. Rent it for a single appearance or buy it as an owned system you keep, extend and reuse. The same structure carries different graphics through the season.

That is the difference from rental-only, where you are left with nothing after the show. With a purchase the investment pays back over a few appearances, since you pay once and then only for the graphic of a new campaign.
