book fairs 2026: a stand for publishers.

The season starts in May: the Podgorica Book and Education Fair runs from 11 to 17 May 2026, followed by the “Trg od knjige” fair in Herceg Novi from 21 to 28 July. Autumn brings the two main dates: the 69th international Belgrade Book Fair from 23 to 31 October at Beogradski sajam, and Interliber, the 48th international book fair, from 10 to 15 November 2026 at the Zagreb Fair.

A publisher’s stand is a point of sale first: most of the space goes to shelving and counters, not to empty walls. A modular Octanorm build works in your favour here: book shelves hang on the same wall elements, graphics run across the panels, and the layout adapts to the floor plan.

The sales counter is the centre of the stand, handling the till and packing, and an illuminated counter also puts new titles on display. Plan spotlights aimed at the shelves as well, because covers disappear under weak light; we cover counters and lighting in separate guides.

For one show a year, rental is the fastest route: we install the Octanorm stand before opening and dismantle it after closing, and you arrive to a finished space. The graphics carry your brand, so a rented stand looks no different from your own.

A modular stand rental is ordered two to four weeks before the fair; the hall space is booked with the organizer much earlier, because the best positions go first. Around the stand come the power connection request, graphics production and transport, so tie every deadline to the opening date and plan backwards.

The regional book fair calendar is dense: Podgorica in May, Herceg Novi in July, Belgrade in October, Zagreb in November. A publisher exhibiting at two or three of them reconfigures the same modular kit from show to show and only changes the graphics.

The Belgrade Book Fair ends on 31 October and Interliber opens on 10 November: the same modular kit is dismantled, moved and rebuilt to the Zagreb floor plan. Our rent-or-buy guide breaks the decision down by the numbers; if the kit is yours, we can store it between shows.
