informativa 2027 ljubljana: exhibition stand.

Informativa, the education and careers fair, runs on 8 and 9 January 2027 at Gospodarsko razstavišče in Ljubljana. The dates come from the organiser (informativa.si); check them before you apply, because dates can move.

The exhibitors are schools, universities and employers recruiting staff. For a stand that is a different brief from an industrial fair: there is no machine to display, you are presenting a programme, and everything happens in a conversation across a counter between an adviser on one side and a student with their parents on the other.

January is not an arbitrary slot. The Slovenian admissions calendar puts Informativa in the part of the year when the decision about a school or a degree is actually being made, which is why two days are densely booked and a visitor walks past a lot of stands in a short time.

For an institution based outside Slovenia the expensive part of a two-day fair is everything around the stand: transport, paperwork for the equipment, accommodation for an install crew, and the return trip after the doors close. Renting, or a turnkey build, removes exactly that part, because the kit, the delivery, the install before opening and the strike after closing are all handled locally.

In practice your team travels once and walks into a finished stand. What you bring is people, printed material and artwork, and artwork can be produced in Slovenia if the file is ready in time.

A two-day run leaves no day for corrections. The Octanorm system assembles with very little tooling and does so repeatably, so the build time is known in advance rather than discovered on site, which matters more when you are working away from your own stores.

At a recruitment fair the counter is a workstation, not decoration. An adviser stands behind it, a student and one or both parents stop in front of it, the conversation runs a few minutes and repeats several times an hour. That is why a stand is measured by the number of simultaneous conversations it carries, not by its floor area.

The layout follows from that. Two advisers need two positions that do not talk over each other, plus room where someone waiting does not block the way in. A promotional counter with a closed body, or an illuminated counter such as the OL-C500, holds the material, hides the stock and lights the surface you present the programme on.

Printed material deserves its own line in the plan. Prospectuses, application forms and small giveaways take more room than a floor plan suggests, and they have to be topped up through the day rather than run out by lunchtime on day one. A closed counter section or a low cupboard under a shelf solves it; a stack of boxes against the wall is visible from the aisle.

Over two days most visitors see you for the first time, from the corridor, in passing. The name of the institution and one line about what is studied or done there have to be legible from several metres, above the heads of the people already standing at the stand. Courses and programmes get read only once somebody steps closer; the name belongs overhead.

For an exhibitor from abroad that sign carries one extra job. Alongside the name, say where you are from and, for a degree, what language the teaching is in. Those are the two questions that would otherwise repeat in every conversation and eat the minutes that a two-day run makes expensive.

An illuminated surface does this better than a printed board, because it works where hall lighting is uneven. Octalumina light frames turn a wall into an evenly lit plane, and spotlights with a colour rendering index of CRI 90, such as the ERON Pro line, keep the colours of a logo as they are meant to be.

Renting covers a single appearance: a complete stand from the Octanorm system, delivered, built before the doors open and cleared after they close, with nothing left to store afterwards. Buying means your own kit, which in later years needs only adjustment and new artwork. A turnkey build is the third route, where design, production, installation and storage sit with one contractor.

For an educational institution the case for buying usually closes faster than for a company, because the appearance is annual rather than occasional. A school or faculty that exhibits at the admissions fair every year covers consecutive editions with one kit and changes only the artwork carrying the current intake.

The venue adds a second argument. Gospodarsko razstavišče hosts another January 2027 date, IFAM with Intronika and Robotics from 26 to 28 January, and the Dom fair from 10 to 14 March 2027. A technical school or faculty that takes two of those dates covers both builds in the same hall with the same kit.

To quote we need the floor plan or the size of the space you have booked, the stand number if you already have one, how many advisers will be on the stand at once, and an estimate of how much printed material you are bringing. Those four facts are enough to draw a layout; without them all you get is a price range.

What comes back is a layout proposal with renting and buying side by side, so the difference shows up as a figure rather than a description. Artwork goes into production last, because the plan usually shifts once more before then, and at an admissions fair the intake wording is often being finalised late as well.
